As star guide to the Weaving Earth Community, Naike maps out upcoming astrological seasons and help us find pathways through the planetary weather that’s ahead. Tuning into these patterns — given to us via elemental metaphor, folklore and the culmination of billions of eyes watching the night sky over hundreds of generations — helps us track and find meaning in our own experiences. Together we will star-gaze, journal, and delve into our mythic dimensions, and through interactive prompts we will talk to each other about our relationship to the stars, the planets and the space between. As every outer planet moves into a new zodiac sign in 2025, foreshadowing a year of tremendous cultural and socio-political change, this year’s Seasons of Change will particularly focus on the historical and current astrology of black and indigenous liberation movements.
Naike Swai is a queer and trans healing arts practitioner, sonic trance facilitator and astrologer of Tanzanian and German heritage. Their interest in studying the vibratory imprint of nature’s forces on our mind and body led them into the practice of classical acupuncture, sound healing and astrology. Whereas acupuncture provides a somatic map of how our bodies digest the experiences of life, astrology lays out a wondrous fabric of the cosmic clock and how the planet’s resonant influences shape our individual and collective lives – each thread representing the planetary patterns that dress and move us. In their readings and workshops Naike weaves these strands together. A graduate from the Portland School of Astrology, their focus lies in decolonizing astrology and connecting to the transformative liberation inherent in our natal charts.
These offerings are held quarterly, meeting 4 times over the course of the year on or near the solstices and equinoxes. Calls last 1.5 hours and are held via zoom. All calls will be recorded and sent to everyone who registers, so you do not need to attend live, though you are encouraged to be there as there are interactive elements and it is an opportunity to connect with others in the community!
Tuition for this program is offered on a sliding scale of $30 — $60. Registration for each call is completed on an individual basis via this webpage. Notifications that registration is open for the next call are made through our newsletter and social media accounts. Use the form at the bottom of this page to sign up for our newsletter, or follow us on instagram. Â
Scholarship Fund: This is a NOTAFLOF* event. If the low end of the sliding scale is still inaccessible we encourage you to join via the free ticket option. We see these quarterly gatherings as an opportunity for our wider community to come together, so please join us at the scale that is right for you!
We gratefully accept donations above the high end of the scale and all additional contributions will be put toward our Lifeways Back fund. Thank you!
Please contact us if you have any questions, or need support in ways not articulated in the pathways above.
